      For Kinder Through High School Grades

      Our spring camp offers a great mix of skill development, team play and games for a great learning experience.

       

      Pricing is $200 per month with $25 credit to current BloomSports players for the month of May.

      Early Bird Discount is $20 until March 15h 2020.

      Day 1 (Windemere Ranch Middle School Gym, 9 am to 12:30 pm)

      Introduction – Camp rules.

      1. Stations
        1. Passing/ catching: 
          1. Fundamental passing, triple threat stances (jab, sweep, swing) 
          2. Pass fakes, meeting pass, communicating 
          3. Crossover move – backoff dribble 
          4. Point direction (crossover) 
        2. Shooting:
          1. 1 step layups, 1 bounce layups – introduce power/ shot fake 
          2. Shooting fundamentals: 
            1. Arm swings and shooting pocket 
            2. 1 motion (no ball/with ball) 
            3. Shooting drill 
        3. Free throw shooting – routine. 

      Snack Break

      1. Defense:
        1. Mass reaction – low, wide stances (no hands). Footwork dr. 
        2. Push step form – slow to right and left. 
        3. Introduce drop step – staying low! 
        4. Diagonals (no ball/no hands) 
      2. Rebounding:
        1. 1/0 offensive rebounding – attack opposite from where it was shot (putbacks/ shot fakes) 
        2. 2 man fetch – score it twice and get outside arc ready to rebound! 
        3. 1/0 contesting the shot without fouling – introduce TAG! Hip, whip and maintain contact with feet – FORM!
      3. Free throw competition 
      4. 3/3 Cat and Mouse games. 
      5. 5/5 full ct. competition – TEAM PLAY! 

      Day 2 (Windemere Ranch Middle School Gym, 9 am to 12:30 pm)

      Passing and Catching:

      1. Fundamental passing review
      2. Review the crossover in each direction – work for mastery here
      3. 1/0 getting open on the wing – V CUTS, catch and face.
      4. Introduce the sweep and go for a layup.
      1. Shooting:
        1. 1 step, 1 bounce review 
        2. Introduce 1 bounce into a power layup – add shot fake 
        3. Arm swings into pocket, 1 motion up and out – no ball, with ball 
        4. Shooting drill 
      2. Ball handling: 
        1. Control dribble 
        2. Backoff cross – half ct. (shoestring dribble) 
        3. Through the legs – half ct. (scissors) 
        4. Around the back – half ct. (spider drill) 
      3. Defense:talk about fouls, pressure without fouling! 
        1. Mass reaction – ball pressure stances with hands 
          1. Ball, Ready, Dead 
          2. 3 dribbles 
        2. Diagonals without ball, then add ball
        3. Driver drill 
        4. Closeout stances 
      4. FREE THROW COMPETITION 
      5. 3/3 CAT AND MOUSE 
      6. 5/5 FULL COURT COMPETITION – TEAM PLAY

      Day 3 Windemere Ranch Middle School Gym, 9 am to 12:30 pm)

      1. Passing and catching: 
        1. Fundamental passing review 
        2. Point direction (crossover) 
        3. Back to the passer 
        4. Keep away – pressure on the ball with active hands and feet! 
        5. Introduce 2/0 v cut passing drill – emphasize the timing and their stances. 
      2. Shooting:
        1. Cross drive for layup, power layup and pull up. 
        2. Fundamentals of shooting: 
          1. On the back shooting – no ball / with ball 
          2. 1 motion – no ball / with ball 
          3. Over top of rim to superman and back 
          4. 7 spots – touch drills (no step in) 
      3. Ball handling: 
        1. Stationary dribbles: 
          1. Left hand (low/high – HARD!) 
          2. Right hand 
          3. Pretzle, shoestring, spider and scissors 
        2. Attacking dribbles – discuss the difference between control and attacking dribbles 
          1. Stutter steps – blast and cross 
          2. Inside out – cross 
          3. Fake cross 
      4. Rebounding – ball in the circle (SMASH) 
      5. Defense:
        1. Closeout stances 
        2. Close out to ball pressure stances 
        3. 4 man shell – closeouts to check positioning, jump to the ball in stance, vision of ball, closing the holes with body (early help/quick recovery in closeout) 

      Day 4 (Windemere Ranch Middle School Gym, 9 am to 12:30 pm)

      Passing and catching:

      1. Keep away
      2. 2/0 v cut passing:
        Catch and face , move with shot
      3. Introduce the dribble follow into these same scoring options
      1. Shooting:
        1. Fundamentals of shooting: 
          1. Arm swings – defining your “pocket” 
          2. 2 lines – touch drills each side 
        2. Introduce the shot fake – stay low and make it real! 
      2. Rebounding – Ball in the circle (smash technique) 
      3. Ball handling: 
        1. Dribble V’s in place, quick. 
        2. Control dribbles – half ct and back: do a quick drill at half ct. 
          1. Backoff cross 
          2. Through the legs 
          3. Behind the back 
        3. Attacking dribbles vs. live defender – defense cannot move his feet. Finish at the rim! 
      4. Defense:
        1. Closeout to ball pressure stances – 4/4 everyone with a ball 
        2. Closeout to push drills – baseline force, force to point. 
        3. 1/1 from the top, live - make it take it. 
        4. 5 on 5 full court play
        5. Awards and thank you!
