Spring Camp Schedule ( April 6th - Aug 9th)
For Kinder Through High School Grades
Our spring camp offers a great mix of skill development, team play and games for a great learning experience.
Pricing is $200 per month with $25 credit to current BloomSports players for the month of May.
Early Bird Discount is $20 until March 15h 2020.

Day 1 (Windemere Ranch Middle School Gym, 9 am to 12:30 pm)
Introduction – Camp rules.
- Stations
- Passing/ catching:
- Fundamental passing, triple threat stances (jab, sweep, swing)
- Pass fakes, meeting pass, communicating
- Crossover move – backoff dribble
- Point direction (crossover)
- Shooting:
- 1 step layups, 1 bounce layups – introduce power/ shot fake
- Shooting fundamentals:
- Arm swings and shooting pocket
- 1 motion (no ball/with ball)
- Shooting drill
- Free throw shooting – routine.
- Passing/ catching:
Snack Break
- Defense:
- Mass reaction – low, wide stances (no hands). Footwork dr.
- Push step form – slow to right and left.
- Introduce drop step – staying low!
- Diagonals (no ball/no hands)
- Rebounding:
- 1/0 offensive rebounding – attack opposite from where it was shot (putbacks/ shot fakes)
- 2 man fetch – score it twice and get outside arc ready to rebound!
- 1/0 contesting the shot without fouling – introduce TAG! Hip, whip and maintain contact with feet – FORM!
- Free throw competition
- 3/3 Cat and Mouse games.
- 5/5 full ct. competition – TEAM PLAY!
Day 2 (Windemere Ranch Middle School Gym, 9 am to 12:30 pm)
Passing and Catching:
- Fundamental passing review
- Review the crossover in each direction – work for mastery here
- 1/0 getting open on the wing – V CUTS, catch and face.
- Introduce the sweep and go for a layup.
- Shooting:
- 1 step, 1 bounce review
- Introduce 1 bounce into a power layup – add shot fake
- Arm swings into pocket, 1 motion up and out – no ball, with ball
- Shooting drill
- Ball handling:
- Control dribble
- Backoff cross – half ct. (shoestring dribble)
- Through the legs – half ct. (scissors)
- Around the back – half ct. (spider drill)
- Defense:talk about fouls, pressure without fouling!
- Mass reaction – ball pressure stances with hands
- Ball, Ready, Dead
- 3 dribbles
- Diagonals without ball, then add ball
- Driver drill
- Closeout stances
- Mass reaction – ball pressure stances with hands
- FREE THROW COMPETITION
- 3/3 CAT AND MOUSE
- 5/5 FULL COURT COMPETITION – TEAM PLAY
Day 3 Windemere Ranch Middle School Gym, 9 am to 12:30 pm)
- Passing and catching:
- Fundamental passing review
- Point direction (crossover)
- Back to the passer
- Keep away – pressure on the ball with active hands and feet!
- Introduce 2/0 v cut passing drill – emphasize the timing and their stances.
- Shooting:
- Cross drive for layup, power layup and pull up.
- Fundamentals of shooting:
- On the back shooting – no ball / with ball
- 1 motion – no ball / with ball
- Over top of rim to superman and back
- 7 spots – touch drills (no step in)
- Ball handling:
- Stationary dribbles:
- Left hand (low/high – HARD!)
- Right hand
- Pretzle, shoestring, spider and scissors
- Attacking dribbles – discuss the difference between control and attacking dribbles
- Stutter steps – blast and cross
- Inside out – cross
- Fake cross
- Stationary dribbles:
- Rebounding – ball in the circle (SMASH)
- Defense:
- Closeout stances
- Close out to ball pressure stances
- 4 man shell – closeouts to check positioning, jump to the ball in stance, vision of ball, closing the holes with body (early help/quick recovery in closeout)
Day 4 (Windemere Ranch Middle School Gym, 9 am to 12:30 pm)
Passing and catching:
- Keep away
- 2/0 v cut passing:
Catch and face , move with shot - Introduce the dribble follow into these same scoring options
- Shooting:
- Fundamentals of shooting:
- Arm swings – defining your “pocket”
- 2 lines – touch drills each side
- Introduce the shot fake – stay low and make it real!
- Fundamentals of shooting:
- Rebounding – Ball in the circle (smash technique)
- Ball handling:
- Dribble V’s in place, quick.
- Control dribbles – half ct and back: do a quick drill at half ct.
- Backoff cross
- Through the legs
- Behind the back
- Attacking dribbles vs. live defender – defense cannot move his feet. Finish at the rim!
- Defense:
- Closeout to ball pressure stances – 4/4 everyone with a ball
- Closeout to push drills – baseline force, force to point.
- 1/1 from the top, live - make it take it.
- 5 on 5 full court play
